
Carolina Has No Trouble With Sweep Of Syracuse

Senior Ashley Dai and freshman Chloe Ouellet-Pizer got North Carolina (18-2, 6-0 ACC) going with a quick 6-2 doubles win on court three over Nicole Mitchell and Maria Tritou.
The top-ranked duo of Hayley Carter and Whitney Kay secured the opening point with a 6-3 win over Valeria Salazar and Gabriela Knutson.
In singles, No. 27 senior Whitney Kay ignited the singles parade with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Salazar on court two. Sophomore Marika Akkerman made it 3-0 Tar Heels with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Libi Mesh on court six, and Ouellet-Pizer clinched the match for the visitors with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Dina Hegab on court five.
No. 1 Hayley Carter continued her dominate form with a straight set win over No. 47 Anna Shkudun. No. 53 Jessie Aney and Kate Vialle made it a clean sweep with a pair of three-set wins on courts three and four, respectively, for the Tar Heels.
Carolina hosts No. 42 Notre Dame on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
