Personal Bests Set At Mt. Sac Relays

NORWALK, Cali. – The University of North Carolina track and field teams competed at the highly competitive Mt. Sac Relays on Friday. Personal bests and season bests were set today by many Tar Heels.
Logan Carroll finished the men's 5,000 with a career best at 4:07.48. Carroll took 10th and finished one spot ahead of UNC alumnus John Raneri.
Josette Norris set a PR in the women's 5,000 by finishing in 16:21.19. She took 33rd overall, and second in the heat. Caroline Alcorta was fourth in the same heat and 35th overall at 16:22.42.
O'Neal Wanliss had a season-best 1:49.79 in the men's 800. Wanliss took seventh overall in the competition.
Lizzy Whelan ran a season-best 4:20.37 in the women's 1,500 elite invitational. She finished 13th overall and the fifth fastest collegian.
Ceo Ways was .02 seconds off his season best in the 200 at 21.13. Ways finished 21st overall. He'll compete again tomorrow in the 400 elite invitational as well as the 4x400.
During Thursday's portion of events, Hannah Christen debuted in the 10,000 at 34:23.40 and finished 12th overall.
North Carolina will have a handful of student-athletes competing on the last day of competition at the Mt. Sac Relays. A recap of performances and results will be on GoHeels.com following the conclusion of the meet.
