Kickoff Times Set For First Three 2016 Football Games

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Kickoff times for the first three games of North Carolina's 2016 football season have been set.
As previously announced, the Tar Heels will face Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta's Georgia Dome on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 5:30 p.m. That game will be nationally televised by ESPN. The following week on Saturday, Sept. 10, Carolina takes on Illinois in Champaign at 7:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
Carolina's home opener on Saturday, Sept. 17, vs. James Madison will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Regional Sports Network.
Also announced today by the ACC and its television partners is the possible start time of UNC's home game against NC State on Friday, Nov. 25. That game will kick off at either noon or 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
The 2016 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game, which will be played for the seventh consecutive year in Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium, is scheduled for the first Saturday in December (Dec. 3) and will have a nationally televised kickoff time of either 7:45 p.m. (on ESPN) or 8 p.m. ET (on ABC). The Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship has been televised in primetime since 2009.
