Cloots Medals At Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship

AYRSHIRE, Scotland – Leslie Cloots shot 1-under 71 in the second round of stroke play at the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship on Wednesday to finish atop the leaderboard at 2-under par. Cloots leads the 63 other qualifiers into the match-play stage starting tomorrow.
Cloots had three birdies and two bogeys in her round including an unblemished back nine with no bogeys. Her 142 aggregate is three strokes better than the next competitor.
Cloots was a finalist two years ago in the same tournament. She'll begin the match-play portion tomorrow after becoming the medalist today.
