Sophomore right-hander Jason Morgan was named to the 2016 All-ACC Academic Team, the league announced Friday. Morgan, who spent most of the season in the UNC weekend rotation, is a first-time selection.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

A native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Morgan tallied a 3-3 record in 15 starts for the Tar Heels in 2016. He limited opponents to a .229 batting average in 63.2 innings of work and posted a 4.10 ERA.
