Cloots, Schechter Through Stage I Qualifying

RANCHO MIRAGE, Cali. – Leslie Cloots and Maia Schechter qualified for Stage II of the LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying School on Sunday. The qualifying school consists of a series of stages which ultimately could lead to membership in the LPGA.
Cloots shot a 285 four-day aggregate while Schechter shot a 287. The pair both finished in the top-20 and will move on to Stage II which begins in October. Cloots is a rising senior on the women's golf team while Schechter graduated from the program in 2015. Both women are hoping to earn a spot on the LPGA Tour through the qulifying school. If the women advance past Stage II, they will compete in Stage III of the qualifying school. An undetermined amount of women who compete in Stage III will receive a LPGA Tour card, while women who compete in 72 holes of Stage III will receive a membership on the Symetra Tour.
Cloots will compete in qualifying school to earn a Symetra Tour spot once she graduates from Carolina in May.
