Castleberry Chosen In Fourth Round of NWSL Draft

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Congratulations go out to senior midfielder Cameron Castleberry of the University of North Carolina women's soccer team who was chosen in the 2017 National Women's Soccer League Draft by the Washington Spirit.
Castleberry, a senior midfielder from Raleigh, N.C., ended her career last month on a Tar Heel team which reached the NCAA semifinals. She also played on a Tar Heel team that reached the NCAA quarterfinals in her freshman year in 2013. She was a full-time starter on the flank of the Tar Heel midfield unit for the past three years.
She was chosen in the fourth round of the draft with the 36th pick overall. Castleberry was the only Tar Heel taken in this year NWSL draft.
