Tar Heels Race At Princeton Chase

UNC raced Sunday at the Princeton Chase.

North Carolina raced five boats Sunday at the Princeton Chase, turning in strong performances against a competitive field in a morning of racing on Lake Carnegie.

"This was a much improved showing for Carolina Rowing than last year at this time so we are proud of our team," UNC coach Sarah Haney said. "The weather was rainy with potential thunderstorms all day and I would thought we handled that well and didn't allow that to hold us back from how we performed."

In the women's varsity 8+ race, UNC's A boat took 26th, the B boat was 41st and the C boat was 50th in a field of 52 boats.

In the women's novice 8+, UNC's A boat finished fifth and the Carolina B boat finished 8th in a field of 12.

Next up for UNC is the Head of the Hooch Regatta on Saturday in Chattanooga, Tenn.

"We still have a lot to improve on as we head to Chattanooga next weekend, " Haney said, "but our team is making progress each day and week and know that we will attack this short week ahead."
