Starting Pitchers Dominate On Saturday

Chapel Hill, NC- Starting pitchers Jason Morgan and Rodney Hutchison both had excellent outings as the North Carolina Tar Heels scrimmaged for nine full innings on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Morgan threw six hitless innings while striking out two and walking two. Hutchison threw 6.1 scoreless innings while giving up four hits and striking out two men and walking none. Taylor Sugg, Josh Hiatt, Hansen Butler and Cole Aker threw in relief.
Brandon Riley was the only player with multiple base hits as he was 2-5 at the plate with a double. Adam Pate was 1-3 with a home run whle Tyler Lynn stroked a double to right.
Carolina will next scrimmage on Sunday afternoon. The Heels will open the 2017 season at home against Kentucky on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
