February 20, 2017 | Baseball
After an impressive opening weekend that saw the Tar Heels sweep Kentucky over three competitive games, the North Carolina baseball team is now a consensus top-15 team across four of the sport's major polls.
Carolina stayed at No. 9 in the D1Baseball poll after the sweep, but the Tar Heels rose in three other surveys. UNC jumped from No. 17 to No. 14 according to Baseball America, from No. 15 to No. 12 in the Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll and from No. 12 to No. 10 in the Perfect Game poll.
The Tar Heels return to Boshamer Stadium on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. for their first midweek game of the year against in-state foe Gardner-Webb. For tickets, visit GoHeels.com/tickets.
