Jackson Is a Naismith Trophy Semifinalist

CHAPEL HILL—Justin Jackson of the University of North Carolina is one of 10 national semifinalists for the 2017 Naismith Men's College Player of the Year award, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced on Wednesday. The four finalists will be announced March 19, 2017.
Other players on the list include UCLA's Lonzo Ball, Wisconsin's Ethan Happ, Villanova's Josh Hart, Kansas' Josh Jackson, Duke's Luke Kennard, Kansas' Frank Mason, Baylor's Johnathan Motley, Purdue's Caleb Swanigan and Gonzaga's Nigel Williams-Goss.
Jackson is second in the ACC in scoring in conference games and sixth in scoring overall and second in three-pointers per game. He has the highest scoring average by a Tar Heel since Tyler Hansbrough in 2009.
