Chapel Hill, N.C. - Sophomore Clementina Rodriguez will transfer to North Carolina next season from the University of Washington.
“We are excited to have Clementina join our team next year,” said head coach Jan Mann. “Along with being an excellent student, Clementina is an accomplished golfer who will bring depth to our team. We look forward to having Clementina be a part of our Carolina family.”
Rodriguez played in two events last fall, featuring her first top-15 finish as Washington won the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational.
Rodriguez also played in seven events for Washington as a freshman, three of which she represented Washington as an individual. Her best finish also came at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, where she finished tied for 33rd at 14-over par.
Rodriguez won the Future Collegiate World Tour event in March 2015 and was named the Golfweek junior girls player of the week following her win.
Rodriguez is originally from Caracas, Venezuela and is looking forward to returning to the east coast where she played her junior golf at the Hank Haney Golf Academy in Hilton Head, S.C.
