Tar Heels Announce Late Night Details

CHAPEL HILL—Late Night With Roy, the 16th annual ceremonial season tipoff for Carolina Basketball presented by Utz, will be the first opportunity to see the Tar Heels open their 2018-19 season in style. Fans are invited to come watch the Tar Heels on Friday October 12 in the Smith Center as they compete in basketball skills challenges and dances while having a little fun, capped off by the team's Blue/White intrasquad scrimmage. Â
Antawn Jamison (UNC '99) and Molly Sullivan (UNC '02) will host the evening's festivities.  Jamison was the 1998 National Player of the Year as a junior at Carolina, a two-time All-America and two-time NBA All-Star.  Sullivan was an Atlantic Coast Conference champion and NCAA qualifying swimmer as a Tar Heel who was an NBA sideline reporter for seven seasons and now is a gameday host and reporter for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles.
Doors will open at 4 p.m., and admission is free. Â The volleyball team will face Pittsburgh in the Smith Center at 5 p.m., followed by Late Night with Roy featuring the men's and women's basketball teams. Women's basketball is expected to begin at approximately 7 p.m., followed by men's basketball at 7:30 p.m.Â
The event will be the first public Carolina Basketball event on the newly named Roy Williams Court at the Dean Smith Center.
The volleyball match and Late Night 2018 will be streamed live by ACC Network Extra.
The first 3,500 fans in attendance will receive a Roy Williams Court towel.Â

TAR HEEL EXPRESS SHUTTLES
Tar Heel Express shuttle bus service will operate from the Friday Center (located off Highway 54 on Friday Center Drive) beginning at 5 p.m. for a $5 fare (round-trip). The shuttles will provide continuous and fully accessible service, running every 10-15 minutes between the Friday Center and the Smith Center. The shuttles will operate for 45 minutes following the end of Late Night. One-way trips are $3. Click here for more information.

Public Parking Lots officially open at 5 p.m. Parking is $10 and exact change is appreciated to facilitate traffic flow into the lots.
LIMOUSINE PARKING
Limo parking is available on Blythe Drive only at $20 per vehicle. Limos are not allowed to drop off or pick up passengers in front of the Smith Center. These areas are reserved to accommodate Tar Heel Express shuttle busses.
CHARTER BUS PARKING
Charter Bus accommodations should be submitted at least 72 hours in advance by completing the Basketball Request Form.
ACCESSIBILITY PARKING & SHUTTLES
Accessibility Parking is reserved in the Williamson Lot located off of Bowles Drive.

Carolina Athletics encourages fans to leave all bags at home, but the following items will be allowed into the Dean E. Smith Center:

• Any clear plastic or vinyl bag no larger than 12" x 12" x 20", including gallon freezer bags
• Small clutch purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5"
• Necessary medical items following inspection at entry gates
• All prohibited items must be returned to your vehicles or discarded at the gates.
• No weapons of any kind are allowed to enter Dean E. Smith Center
