Holcomb Earns All-ACC Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- North Carolina senior linebacker Cole Holcomb was named to the 2018 All-Atlantic Coast Conference second team, the league announced Monday. The New Smyrna Beach, Florida, product led the ACC with 105 tackles on the year, the third consecutive season in which he was UNC's top tackler. Holcomb also had 8.0 tackles for loss and a sack, broke up four passes and forced four fumbles, three of which came against Georgia Tech. He also had a career-high 22 tackles against the Yellow Jackets and earned ACC Linebacker of the Week honors for his performance.

A trio of Tar Heel juniors earned honorable mention from the vote of the league's head coaches and media. Anthony Ratliff-Williams was an honorable mention pick at wide receiver, William Sweet was recognized at offensive tackle and Jason Strowbridge was cited at defensive tackle. Ratliff-Williams caught 42 passes for a team-best 689 yards and two touchdowns. Sweet anchored an offensive line that allowed just 10 sacks all season and earned ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors after the win over Pitt. Strowbridge had has best year as a Tar Heel, finishing 2018 with 7.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
