Pickett Tabbed ACC Pitcher of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Tossing each of North Carolina's four wins, sophomore Brittany Pickett has been named the ACC's Pitcher of the Week, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office. This is Pickett's fourth honor and third for the Tar Heels in 2018.
Pickett tossed each of Carolina's wins, limiting her opponents to a .196 clip with a 1.25 ERA. Giving up only two earned runs in the doubleheader, Pickett threw both games of the midweek twin bill at USC-Upstate, including a complete-game shutout in the nightcap. The sophomore's success continued at Notre Dame where she limited the ACC's best offense to a .231 average between two games during the series. After tossing three complete games, Pickett closed out the weekend with a 1-0 shutout win in Sunday's pitchers' duel against Notre Dame. Pickett also assisted nine outs from the circle, logging two for herself.
Pickett and the Tar Heels continue their road trip Wednesday at Winthrop.
