No. 13 Carolina Opens ACC Play at No. 8 Louisville

LOUISVILLE SERIES HISTORY
• North Carolina and Louisville have only faced off seven times, the first of which game as a two-game series in 1995 that Carolina won 8-5 and 9-7. Both games were in Chapel Hill.Â
• The only other time these two schools have played a three-game series came in 2016 in Chapel Hill where Louisville won the series, 2-1.Â
• The Cardinals have won three of the last four against the Tar Heels, including a 2015 mactchup in the ACC Tournament.
OPENING ACC PLAY ON THE ROAD
• This is the first time the Tar Heels have opened ACC play on the road since 2013 against Wake Forest. Carolina swept that series and won combined 30-8.Â
• A year earlier, UNC also opened on the road at Clemson and swept that series by a score of 16-11 with two one-run games and the third game going in extra innings.Â
Quick Notes
• With eight RBIs in four games last week, Michael Busch increased his season total to 20. That's the most by a Carolina player through the first 12 games of a season since Ryan Earey had 22 in 2000.
• UNC went 4-0 last week with wins against High Point and a series sweep against Liberty. In those four games, the Heels outscored its opponents 46-15.
• As a team, the Heels hit .318 last week and had a total ERA of 3.25.
• North Carolina is second in the ACC in strikeouts (135) only trailing Florida State.Â
• Kyle Datres is tied for third in the ACC in hits (19) and tied for fifth in runs scored (13).
• The 10-0 win over High Point and the 17-2 win over Liberty marked the first time since 2013 that Carolina recorded back-to-back home wins by double digits.
• Cooper Criswell is second in the ACC in appearances and tied for ninth in the country with seven.
• Tyler Baum is fifth in the ACC in strikeouts (25) and is now 2-0 on the season. He is 9-0 in his career after going 7-0 during his freshman season.
• After combining for five hits through the first nine games of the season, Ashton McGee and Brandon Riley combined for 10 hits over the last four games with 11 RBI, 12 runs scored and two home runs.Â
• Josh Hiatt picked up his second save of the season after striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth inning on Saturday against Liberty. He now has 12 strikeouts in 9 IP.
