CHAPEL HILL—On January 31, the UNC JV team took on the JV Monarchs of Methodist University. Though the Monarchs were able to keep it a close game in the beginning of the first half, the Tar Heels quickly pulled away and dominated the rest of the game, 100-74.

They were led to victory by returning Junior guard, Brooks Palmer, who had 22 points. His effort was matched by freshman Pearce Landry, who went 5-8 from the 3-point line and contributed 17 points to the team's win over the Monarchs.

Caleb Ellis and Robbie O'Han also had key roles in the game, each scoring in double figures and cumulating nine rebounds and eight assists.

The win against Methodist advanced the JV team to 8-0 for the season.
