Cloutier Named MLL Offensive Player of the Week

BOSTON, MASS. (May 22, 2018) – Denver Outlaws attackman Chris Cloutier was named the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week for Week 5. Cloutier led the Outlaws to a 17-13 win over the previously undefeated Charlotte Hounds on Saturday night. Cloutier played four years as an outstanding attackman at the University of North Carolina, graduating earlier this month.

He is the second Tar Heel named the MLL's Warrior Offensive Player of the Week this season, joining Marcus Holman, Class of 2013, who earned the award in week 3 of the 2018 MLL season.

Cloutier, 22, scored six goals and added two assists in his professional debut for the Outlaws on Saturday. Three of his goals came in the first 5:09 of the game, giving Denver an early 3-0 lead. The eight points marked the most by an Outlaws player this season. The Hounds cut Denver's early lead to 8-7 in the third quarter, but Eric Law, Cloutier, Mikie Schlosser and Kylor Bellistri combined for the next five goals, including two from Cloutier.

Denver selected Cloutier in the fourth round (29th overall) of the 2018 Collegiate Draft out of North Carolina, where he posted 31 goals, 10 assists and 41 points in 14 games for the Tar Heels this season.
