Tar Heel pair honored by USILA
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A pair of University of North Carolina men's lacrosse players have been named to the 2018 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association honorable mention All-America Teams. The announcement was made by the USILA Thursday morning as voted by the USILA's All-America committee of NCAA Division I coaches.
Senior attackman Chris Cloutier of Kitchener, Ontario was named to the honorable mention All-America Team. He was joined on that team by junior defenseman Jack Rowlett of Burke, Va., who was tapped as a long-stick midfielder.
Cloutier started all 14 games for the Tar Heels in 2018. He led the Tar Heels in scoring with 41 points on a team-leading 31 goals. He also had 10 assists and 23 ground balls and he had four man-up goals during the course of the campaign.
Rowlett is a three-year starter for Carolina having started 12 contests in 2018. He was tied for fourth on the Tar Heel team in ground balls with 28 GBs. He was credited with eight caused turnovers. He also scored five goals and had two assists. Rowlett scored on 38.5 percent of his shots.
