Ramos Grabs Silver At Pan-Am Championships

North Carolina senior Ethan Ramos won the silver medal at 79kg Saturday at the 2018 Pan-Am Championships in Lima, Peru. Representing Puerto Rico, Ramos teched Canadian Shawn Daye-Finley 14-4 in the quarterfinals before pinning Peru's Marcos Quesada Martinez in 1:01 for a spot in the final.
Ramos, a two-time ACC champion and 2015 All-American at UNC, fell to American Mark Hall 6-0 in the final.Â
The silver medal is the first in Pan-Am competition for the Hawthorne, New Jersey, native who recently wrapped up his stellar collegiate career with a second ACC title and a fourth consecutive nationals appearance.
