Four Corners: Summer School Continues, Berry & Pinson Agree To Contracts

Roy Williams and his coaching staff held the first of their summer practices for the 2018-19 team earlier this week. Those summer practices will continue into July, and the Tar Heels will practice again in Chapel Hill in August prior to their exhibition trip to The Bahamas.

• Coby White filed the final entry in his blog for USA Today, discussing how he's enjoying his initial time on campus in Chapel Hill.
• Marcus Ginyard has been in town this summer, and he continues to love returning to Chapel HIll nearly a decade after he graduated:
• Woody Durham, the late, former "Voice of the Tar Heels," was posthumously inducted into the National Sports Media Hall of Fame in Winston-Salem on Monday night.
• The ACC Digital Network helps fans revisit Brice Johnson's big game at Florida State two seasons ago:
• C.L. Brown of The Athletic profiled Luke Maye, highlighting what the senior forward learned from the NBA Draft process (by subscription only) earlier in the offseason. "I had a really strong year, but I think there are a lot of areas I can improve on," Maye said in the article. "I didn't finish as well around the basket as I could have. I had some games where I really struggled offensively being more consistent."
• An early set of 2018-19 rankings, this one from CBS' Gary Parrish, includes the Tar Heels in the top 10. Parrish writes that Carolina's freshmen "will pair with veterans like Luke Maye, Cameron Johnson and Kenny Williams to put Roy Williams in a position to perhaps win a fourth national title."
• Jonathan Givony of ESPN reported shortly after last week's NBA Draft Theo Pinson has agreed to a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets:

The Nets can't make the news official until July 6 due to NBA rules. Pinson confirmed the news and will split time in 2018-19 between the Nets and their G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets:

• Meanwhile, Shams Charania of Yahoo reports Joel Berry II has signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and will play for the Lakers in the NBA Summer League:We already know @tpinsonn loves Brooklyn and now he's officially a part of the @BrooklynNets.

North Carolina's Joel Berry II has agreed to an undrafted free-agent deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo.

Berry was four-year standout at UNC and part of national championship team in 2017.

• Bobby Jones was a guest on a podcast with Tommy Tomlinson and discussed his time in the NBA, the 1972 Olympics and Carolina.
• John Henson joined Reggie Bullock in the New York City Pride Parade, paying tribute to Bullock's late sister, Mia Henderson. The Ringer's Rembert Browne was there on the float with Bullock and his son the NBA's third appearance in the parade. "I see y'all as people that I love," Bullock told the transgender community in a feature in the Chicago Tribune.
• The Palm Beach Post wonders: Will Wayne Ellington return to the Miami Heat?
• J.P. Tokoto will play for Golden State's summer league team after spending last season playing in Australia.
• Danny Green has exercised his player contract option to remain with the San Antonio Spurs for another season, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski:
