At the same time in Chapel Hill, members of the 2018-19 Carolina squad are completing the second session of summer school this week. The team's three incoming freshmen, Rechon "Leaky" Black, Nassir Little and Coby White, have gotten their initial taste of college life and classes, as well as practices with the UNC coaching staff and workouts with strength and conditioning coordinator Jonas Sahratian.
Team members will finish summer school in the coming days before enjoying a few weeks at home to gear up for the start of the fall semester in August.

• C.L. Brown previewed the Tar Heels as part of The Athletic's Summer School series, focusing on the question of who will play point guard for Carolina this season. Brown writes:

• Jawad Williams, a member of the 2005 NCAA championship squad, has played professionally overseas for more than a decade after a brief NBA stint. Every summer, however, Williams returns home to the Chapel Hill area to live with his family, workout at the Smith Center and play pickup games with the current team and other former players. He writes in his blog that 2018 has been a different summer because of how much more time former Tar Heels have spent in Chapel Hill. "This summer has been special," Williams writes.
• Another national champ, Danny Green, is moving north to Toronto after nearly a decade with the Spurs. Green won an NBA title in San Antonio to become just the third Carolina player to win both a college and pro championship. The Spurs traded Kawhi Leonard and Green to Toronto for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Pöltl and a first-round draft pick.
