CORAL SPRINGS. Fla. – For the second time, both Brynn Walker and Mariana Ocano earned Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar honors for the 2017-18 season, the WGCA announced Tuesday. Walker and Ocano are just the sixth and seventh Tar Heels to earn WGCA All-American Scholar honors multiple times.

Walker is a rising junior from St. David's, Pennsylvania, who is majoring in Media and Journalism. This is Walker's second academic honor of the season after being named to the All-ACC Academic team in June.

Ocano is a rising junior from St. Petersburg, Florida, who is majoring in Business.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
