#3 UNC Hosts Elon, Charlotte Saturday

CHAPEL HILL - No. 3 North Carolina women's tennis opens up its 2019 spring schedule this Saturday with a doubleheader inside Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. The Tar Heels will host in-state foes Elon at 11 a.m. and Charlotte at 4 p.m.

UNC boasts a strong lineup with four players ranked among the top-25 in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings. Junior Makenna Jones leads the quartet at No. 2, followed by junior Sara Daavettila at No. 4, junior Alexa Graham at No. 18 and freshman Cameron Morra checks in 21st.
In doubles, Morra and Jones are ranked No. 2 after a brilliant fall season.
The Tar Heels return seven players from last year's team that finished the campaign ranked No. 3 in the nation. UNC boasted a 28-4 overall record and won its third-consecutive ACC Championship.
The program also won the ITA Indoor National Team Championship for the third time since 2013.
Elon is coming off a 14-13 record in 2018. The Phoenix reached the semifinals of the CAA Tournament, before bowing out to top seed William & Mary, 4-2. Head coach Elizabeth Anderson begins her 15th season at Elon and sits on 199 career victories.
Charlotte is led by first-year head coach Anthony Davison, a former 49er men's tennis standout that graduated in 2012. The program posted a 9-13 mark in 2018 and fell in the quarterfinals to top seed FIU in the Conference USA Championships.
