Yarlagadda Shines Day One Of Kitty Harrison Invite

CHAPEL HILL - Freshman Anika Yarlagadda picked up a singles win and two doubles victories on Friday during the first day of the 16th annual Kitty Harrison Invitational from Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
Yarlagadda teamed up with classmate Kacie Harvey in the first doubles bout of the day and earned an 8-4 win over Tulane. Later in the morning, Yarlagadda and Sophia Patel took down William & Mary by an 8-2 score.
She wrapped up a busy day with a win outdoors over Rifanty Kahfiani of Oregon, 6-3, 6-0.
Harvey also earned a singles win in the afternoon over Oregon's Julia Eshet, 6-4, 6-0.
Day two is slated to begin on Saturday with doubles matches indoors at 9 a.m. Carolina vs. Notre Dame, William & Mary vs. NC State, Virginia vs. Tulane and Oregon vs. Duke, but not before 10:45 a.m.
Singles is scheduled for both indoors and outdoors at 10:30 a.m. featuring UNC vs. Virginia and William & Mary vs. Notre Dame, followed by Oregon vs. Tulane and NC State vs. Duke at 12:30 p.m.
