• North Carolina and Temple meet in football for the first time when they face off in the Military Bowl on Dec. 27 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland for a noon kickoff on ESPN.
• UNC (6-6) is playing in its first bowl game since 2016 and looks to finish with a winning record in head coach Mack Brown's first season back in Chapel Hill.
• Temple (8-4) makes its fifth-straight bowl appearance under first-year head coach Rod Carey.

• Carolina, who is making its 34th postseason bowl appearance, owns a 14-19 all-time record in bowl games.
• The Tar Heels last bowl victory was a 39-17 win over Cincinnati in the 2013 Belk Bowl.
MACK BROWN'S BOWL HISTORY
• Head coach Mack Brown owns a 14-8 record in bowl games, including guiding the Tar Heels to six-straight appearances from 1992-97.Â
• Brown was 3-2 in bowl games he coached at UNC, winning the 1993 Peach Bowl over Mississippi State, 21-17, the 1995 Carquest Bowl over Arkansas, 20-10 and the 1997 Gator Bowl over West Virginia, 20-13. He left for Texas before the 1998 Gator Bowl.Â
