Carolina Series History (Last Meeting): UNC leads 23-8 (UNC 85, Miami 76, Jan. 19, 2019, Watsco Center)
Miami shook off a five-game losing streak Wednesday with a thorough 62-47 home win over Notre Dame. The Hurricanes stifled ND to the tune of 0.73 PPP, easily their best defensive showing of the conference slate.
Offensively, the 'Canes have struggled since the first meeting with Carolina. Miami has topped 1.00 PPP just once in its last five games, and road games (53 points in a loss at Syracuse and 46 in a loss at Virginia) have been especially challenging.
With the disappointing end to Dewan Hernandez's eligibility saga, Miami will basically go with a seven-man rotation the rest of the way. Sophomore guard Chris Lykes continues to lead the attack, averaging 16.3 points per game in ACC play, while 6-10 senior Ebuka Izundu remains the Hurricanes' primary producer on the boards. Junior Dejan Vasiljevic is Miami's top outside threat, though he has struggled a bit from late (9 for 35 over his last five games).
