Carolina Shuts Out Boston College for Series Sweep

CHAPEL HILL – Earning their first sweep of the season, the Tar Heels blanked Boston College, 8-0 in five innings on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Anderson Stadium. Brittany Pickett tossed her second one-hitter of the weekend while four Tar Heels had multi-hit games.
Home runs by Megan Dray and Kristina Burkhardt helped UNC improve to 15-9 overall, 5-1 in ACC play. The lone BC hit came from Lexi DiEmmanuele as the Eagles fall to 7-14, 0-3 in conference. Carolina hosts Tennessee at 4 p.m. Wednesday and Georgia Tech Friday through Sunday at Anderson Stadium.
