CHAPEL HILL – Earning their first sweep of the season, the Tar Heels blanked Boston College, 8-0 in five innings on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Anderson Stadium. Brittany Pickett tossed her second one-hitter of the weekend while four Tar Heels had multi-hit games.

Home runs by Megan Dray and Kristina Burkhardt helped UNC improve to 15-9 overall, 5-1 in ACC play. The lone BC hit came from Lexi DiEmmanuele as the Eagles fall to 7-14, 0-3 in conference. Carolina hosts Tennessee at 4 p.m. Wednesday and Georgia Tech Friday through Sunday at Anderson Stadium.

Key Moments
» Brittany Pickett struck out two in the first en route to her second one-hit game of the weekend.
» Leah Murray put down a bunt single and stole second base before Kiani Ramsey plated the run on a triple to left.
» Dray doubled Carolina's lead with a solo-shot to center in the second for her second home run of the season.
» After a DiEmmanuele's single through the left side, Dray threw down to Abby Settlemyre to catch the runner stealing in the third.
» Ramsey put down a bunt-single and advanced on a ground out. Dray drew a walk before Settlemyre cleared the bases on a single to right and a BC miscue. Lexi Godwin tacked on another run on an RBI-single to center for a 5-0 lead after four innings.
» Campbell Hutcherson made a diving grab at first to keep the Eagles off the bases.
» After back-to-back singles, Burkhardt cleared the fences, scoring three runs on her second home run of the season.
» Hannah Nommensen started the fifth inning and faced four batters. She recorded two outs before Pickett reentered to close the game.
