13 Tar Heels Named to 2018 EAGL All-Scholastic Team

BALTIMORE, MD (March 6th, 2019) – The East Atlantic Gymnastics League announced the All-EAGL Scholastic Team for the 2018 calendar year on March 6th , as the league members prepare for their Championship competition, set for Saturday, March 23rd at the University of New Hampshire.
87 gymnasts comprise this year's Scholastic Team, topping last year's number by four student-athletes. In order to be honored as a Scholastic Team member, a gymnast must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above after the 2018 calendar year GPA is factored in. Freshmen are eligible with Fall 2018 semester grades only.
For the second year in a row, the University of New Hampshire led the way with 17 student-athletes on the EAGL All-Scholastic Team. Towson University and the University of Pittsburgh each added 15 student-athletes to the list, while George Washington University added 14 student-athletes. The University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University each had 13 student-athletes qualify for the All-Scholastic Team.
