Pickett Named ACC Co-Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Helping the Tar Heels to a historic week at Anderson Stadium, Brittany Pickett has been named the ACC Co-Player of the Week as announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office. This is Pickett's first ACC Player of the Week honor, eighth ACC weekly accolade and fourth for the Tar Heels in 2019.

Returning to the lineup for the first time since opening day, Pickett slugged three home runs in 13 at-bats, driving in eight of Carolina's 22 runs. Pickett began the week with a three-run shot against Coastal Carolina. The junior slugged a single-game high, two home runs in the series opener against No. 3 Florida State, scoring four runs. Pickett drove in the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth in the first game of the doubleheader. The Indian Trail, North Carolina native drew four walks and led the Tar Heels with a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Pickett was named Co-Player of the Week with Virginia Tech's Emma Strouth. Tech's Keely Rochard garnered ACC Pitcher of the Week honors.
