April 2, 2019 | Women's Tennis
GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina junior standout Alexa Graham has earned her league-leading fifth ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor in 2019, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Ranked No. 6 nationally in singles and No. 8 in doubles with Jessie Aney, Graham won both of her singles matches and both of her doubles matches in Carolina's road wins over No. 28 Syracuse (5-2) and Pitt (7-0) last week.
The junior from Garden City, New York, took down 90th-ranked Miranda Ramirez of Syracuse and 111th-ranked Claudia Bartolome of Pitt. Graham also paired up with Aney in doubles, and their weekend was highlighted by a win over the 71st-ranked duo of Gabriela Knutson and Ramirez.
Graham is unbeaten in dual matches thus far with a 17-0 mark in singles and owns a 15-1 record playing with Aney in doubles.
North Carolina (22-1, 10-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) remains atop the conference standings, a game ahead of Triangle rivals Duke and NC State. The Tar Heels host No. 13 Florida State on Friday at 1:45 p.m. and No. 22 Wake Forest on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Seminoles and Demon Deacons currently sit fourth and fifth, respectively, in the ACC standings.
