Women’s Tennis Releases Spring Schedule
December 18, 2025 | Women's Tennis
CHAPEL Hill, N.C. – Head coach Brian Kalbas and the University of North Carolina women's tennis program released their 2026 spring schedule Thursday afternoon. After winning their second-straight ACC title and earning a trip to the Final Four, the Tar Heels are prepped for another strong campaign this spring.
UNC will open the 2026 season with a home match against Campbell Jan. 11 at 1 p.m.
The Tar Heels will continue their home stretch by hosting in-state competition Gardner-Webb and Appalachian State the following weekend. Just two days later, Carolina will welcome ACC foe Virginia on Jan. 19.
UNC will then host three other teams at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend before traveling up the road to Cary to take on NC State Jan. 30.
In its biggest non-conference matchup of the season, Carolina will host defending national champion Georgia at the beginning of February. The Tar Heels split last season with Georgia, narrowly defeating the Bulldogs 4-3 at home before later falling in the national semifinals 4-0.
The Tar Heels will then hit the road for a test at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship on Feb. 6-9.
Before jumping into more ACC action, UNC will host Elon Feb. 17.
UNC will begin the conference slate on Feb. 20 by welcoming Syracuse to Chewning Tennis Center. Carolina is also set to host Boston College, Notre Dame, Louisville, Clemson and Georgia Tech in conference play this season.
The Tar Heels will take on their first road trip of the ACC season March 1 as they head to Dallas, Texas, to play SMU. Carolina will wrap up the conference season with a pair of road matches against Miami and Florida State April 10 and 12.
UNC will look to defend their title at the ACC Championship beginning April 14 in Cary. The Tar Heels topped Virginia, 4-0, last season to claim the 2025 ACC title for the second-straight season.
Following the ACC Championship, the Tar Heels will begin their postseason journey May 1 with sights set on making a second-consecutive final four appearance while chasing just the second NCAA Championship in program history.
Carolina heads into the spring behind key returner Reese Brantmeier and impact transfer Oby Kajuru.
Brantmeier has had a standout career in Carolina blue, most recently winning the 2025 NCAA Singles National Championship. The senior also earned All-America honors in both singles and doubles this fall, making Brantmeier eight for eight in All-America selections throughout her career. This marks a program first at UNC. The Tar Heels will look to the competitive experience of Brantmeier throughout the challenging non-conference schedule. The reigning ACC Player of the Year's leadership will also be key as UNC looks for another ACC title this season.
Kajuru joined the team this fall after competing at Oklahoma State. Since becoming a Tar Heel, she has picked up nine singles wins and posted an 11-2 doubles record with partner Susanna Maltby. At the 2025 NCAA Doubles Championships, Kajuru and Maltby earned All-America honors after advancing to the quarterfinals. Kajuru also claimed the 2025 ITA Carolina Regional singles title while also winning the doubles regional championship. The graduate transfer heads into the spring season ranked no. 23 in singles and no. 3 in doubles with partner Maltby.
