May 16, 2019 | Football
CHAPEL HILL – The University of North Carolina's football program has been informed of two more game times for the 2019 season. The Wake Forest game, originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12, has been moved to Friday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. (EST) and will air on ESPN. The Pitt game on Thursday, Nov. 14 will kick off at 8 p.m. (EST) and will air on ESPN as well. The game time and channel for the South Carolina game in Charlotte to open the season will be announced on Thursday, May 30.
With the Wake Forest game being moved to Friday, it will mark the first Friday game for Carolina since Nov. 25, 2016 against NC State. The all-time record between the two squads is 69-35-2 with the Tar Heels holding a 20-14 advantage in Winston-Salem. The Demon Deacons did squeak out a one-point victory in UNC's last trip to Wake in 2012.
This season's game in Pittsburgh will be the 14th matchup between the schools with Carolina leading the series 10-3. The Tar Heels are 4-2 at Pitt, including a 34-31 victory in their last visit in 2017.
This announcement comes on the heels of the Miami game time announcement. Carolina's home opener against the Canes on Saturday, Sept. 7 will kick off at 8 p.m. (EST).
