No. 8 Carolina Set For Weekend Duals Against Duke And Bucknell

No. 8 North Carolina (9-1, 1-0 ACC) returns to Carmichael Arena this weekend with a pair of duals in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels host Duke (Friday at 7:00 p.m.) and Bucknell (Saturday at 2:00 p.m.) as a part of the team's alumni weekend. Friday's dual will be broadcast nationally on the ACC Network.

UNC shot up the NWCA Coaches Poll this week following the team's 23-10 win over No. 3 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg last Friday. At 165 pounds, Kennedy Monday is now ranked at No. 11 by Intermat following his tech fall win over No. 3 David McFadden. Zach Sherman (141) climbed all the way up to No. 10.

Duke is 0-11 this season following a loss to No. 10 Pittsburgh last weekend. Last season, UNC clinched a share of the ACC regular season dual meet title in its win in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Bucknell is 6-3 on the year with a strong 5-1 EIWA conference record. The Bison knocked off Sacred Heart (36-3) and Drexel (27-2) last weekend. At 165 pounds, Zach Hartman is ranked No. 18 in Intermat's weekly rankings.

Carolina Wrestling will celebrate Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night at Friday's dual. On Saturday, the team plans to honor all alumni during a recognition before the match against Bucknell.
