Danny Green Joins Select Company With NBA Title With Third Franchise

When the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Miami Heat on Sunday night to win the 2020 NBA championship, former Tar Heel guard Danny Green won an NBA title for a second consecutive year and with his third different franchise, joining select company in doing so.
Green scored 11 points in the clinching Game 6, hitting three three-pointers. For more highlights about Green's accomplishments, please see below.

• Green joins LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to start for three different franchises that won NBA championships.
Green: 2014 San Antonio, 2019 Toronto, 2020 Los Angeles Lakers
James: 2012 and 2013 Miami, 2016 Cleveland, 2020 Los Angeles Lakers
• Green and James join Robert Horry and John Salley as the only players in NBA history to win championships with at least three franchises.
Horry: two with Houston, three with Los Angeles Lakers and two with San Antonio
Salley: two with Detroit, one each with Chicago and Los Angeles Lakers
• Green is the sixth Tar Heel to win at least three NBA championships. UCLA and USF (San Francisco) are next on that list with three players with at least three NBA titles.

• Green is the fifth Tar Heel to win an NBA title as a Los Angeles Laker with Fox, Kupchak, Bob McAdoo and Worthy.
• Green is tied for fourth all-time with 59 three-pointers in the NBA Finals.
