• Filippo Zattarin scored on a header with just 0:01 remaining in the second half to lift North Carolina to a 1-0 win over No. 3 Clemson on Oct. 9 at Dorrance Field.Â
• Zattarin's game-winner came on a set play that began with 0:05 to play after a Clemson foul 10 yards outside of the box on the left side. Carolina's Milo Garvanian sent the free kick into a scrum inside the box, where freshman Akeim Clarke redirected the ball high up into the air.Â
• Zattarin then got a running start and headed the ball into the upper right corner of the net just before the buzzer sounded. Video review showed the goal came with 0:01 remaining in regulation.
• The game marked the first time the Tigers had been held scoreless in over a year, since a scoreless tie against Virginia Tech on Oct. 5, 2019.
Filippo Zattarin Earns National & ACC Honors
• Graduate transfer defender Filippo Zattarin has quickly made his stamp on the Tar Heels this fall, evidenced by his game-winning goal in Carolina's 1-0 win over #3 Clemson on Oct. 9.
• Zattarin scored the game-winning goal on a header with 0:01 remaining in regulation to lift North Carolina to a 1-0 win over No. 3 Clemson on Oct. 9 in Chapel Hill. A graduate transfer from Saint Mary's (Calif.), Zattarin also helped lead a Tar Heel defense that held the Tigers scoreless with just two shots on goal.
• Zattarin was named the co-ACC Player of the Week and the United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week on Nov. 12.

• Undefeated North Carolina (2-0, 2-0 ACC) moved into the top five of the national rankings this week on the heels of its 1-0 win over previously No. 3 Clemson on Oct. 9.

Behind the Demon Deacons, the men's top five saw one change this week with Carolina sliding into the top five at No. 3. Pittsburgh was still No. 2 with Kentucky fourth and Virginia fifth for the third straight week. Clemson fell out of the poll.
• Due to the pandemic, only teams competing in the fall are considered for the fall rankings. The number of teams appearing in each ranking is also lower due to the lower number of teams competing. The men's poll consists of a Top Five national ranking
