Brown, Carter & Williams Earn All-America Status
December 28, 2020 | Football
Three North Carolina football standouts have earned a spot on The Associated Press All-America teams. Javonte Williams was selected a second-team running back, while Dyami Brown was a third-team wide receiver and Michael Carter a third-team running back.
Williams scored a program record 22 touchdowns and rushed for 1,140 yards in his junior season with the Tar Heels.
Brown, the only wide receiver in Carolina history with two 1,000-yard seasons, led the Atlantic Coast Conference with 1,099 receiving yards and scored eight touchdowns in his junior campaign.
Carter became just the eighth Tar Heel running back to post multiple 1,000-yard seasons with his team-leading 1,245 rushing yards as a senior. Carter scored 11 total touchdowns and averaged 151.6 all-purpose yards per game. His 7.98 yards per carry in 2020 broke Charlie "Choo Choo" Justice's mark of 7.2 that was set in Justice's freshman season of 1946.
