Tar Heels Grab No. 4 Seed At ITA Indoors

CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina men's tennis team has earned the No. 4 seed at this weekend's 16-team ITA Indoor National Championships, at the University of Wisconsin's Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisc.
The Tar Heels will face No. 13 seed South Carolina on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Eastern. The winner will advance to Saturday's quarterfinals to face the winner of the match between No. 5 seed Florida and No. 12 seed Columbia.
Two weeks ago in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels shut out South Carolina, 4-0.
Defending champion Ohio State is the top seed, followed in the top five by No. 2 USC, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Carolina and No. 5 Florida. Other Atlantic Coast Conference squads in the tournament include No. 9 see Wake Forest and No. 10 seed North Carolina State.
The Tar Heels reached the semifinals of last year's ITA Indoors before losing to Wake Forest.
This season is the first time Wisconsin has hosted the men's tournament, which is in its 45th year of existence, since the 1970s. The 16 teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament over a four-day span to crown a national indoor champion.
Admission will be free for all of the matches and concessions will be available to patrons during the tournament.
A parking map for the weekend is available here. Parking for specators will be located in Lots 60 and 76 for $5 on Friday, Feb. 14 and Monday, Feb. 17. Parking for the matches on Saturday, Feb. 15 and Sunday, Feb. 16 will be free in those lots.
