Tar Heels Head North To Battle No. 17 Cornell

No. 8 North Carolina (12-2, 3-1 ACC) is set for its second dual of the weekend as the team travels to New York to battle No. 17 Cornell (9-6, 4-1 Ivy) in Ithaca on Sunday. The dual is set for 1 p.m. EST in Newman Arena at Bartels Hall and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Tar Heels are fresh off of another top-10 win following a 22-14 win over No. 9 Pittsburgh on Friday night in Carmichael Arena. No. 3 Austin O'Connor won with his sixth pin of the season while No. 15 Kennedy Monday knocked off No. 12 Jake Wentzel, both helping UNC to a key conference victory.

At 157 pounds, redshirt senior A.C. Headlee won his 60th career match as a Tar Heel on Friday night, a mark that leads the team. Clay Lautt (174) cruised to a 15-5 win over Pittsburgh's Hunter Kernan, moving his dual meet record to 11-2 this season.

Cornell enters Sunday's match with two ranked probable wrestlers – No. 5 Chas Tucker (133) and No. 3 Ben Darmstadt (197). The Big Red will wrestle Binghamton Saturday at 1 p.m. before the dual against Carolina.
