CHAPEL HILL – Highlighted by three Tar Heel home runs, North Carolina shutout NC Central, 7-0, on Tuesday evening at Anderson Stadium. Junior Zoë Goodman and sophomores Hannah George and Kiersten Licea cleared the park en route to Carolina's second shutout victory of the season.

Although the Tar Heels were held off the board until the third inning, UNC posted seven runs off the bats of eight batters in the 11-hit evening – the second most hits in a game this season. NC Central scattered five hits, including a double Olivia Daniel, but was unable to score.

Carolina improves to 6-5 while NC Central slides 0-3 on the season.

» Bri Stubbs earned her first outfield assist of the year, scooping up a potential single to get the out at first.
» Following a single by Shayla Thompson and NCCU miscue, Stubbs singled and continued to second allowing Thompson to score for the 1-0 lead. Stubbs scored on a passed ball before Zoë Goodman slugged her second home run in as many games. Lexi Godwin and Abby Settlemyre also singled in the third, contributing to UNC's four-run, six-hit inning.
