Tar Heels Face NC Central, JMU in Midweek Action

CHAPEL HILL – Coming off the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, North Carolina wraps up its seven-game homestand with NC Central and JMU this week at Anderson Stadium. The Tar Heels take on NC Central Tuesday at 5 p.m. and James Madison Wednesday at 4 p.m.

About NC Central (0-2)
After dropping a doubleheader at USC Upstate last week, NC Central continues the 2020 season traveling to North Carolina Tuesday and South Carolina Wednesday. Joirea Dumas and Tamiera Sanchez account for both of the Eagles' home runs this season while Dumas has a team-best .333 average.
Series (streak): North Carolina leads, 10-2 (lost one)
Last meeting: NC Central won, 3-1 on April 30, 2019 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
About James Madison (2-1)
Opening the 2020 season with a 2-1 performance at the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational, James Madison stays on the road to face UNC in a midweek clash. Infielder Sara Jubas owns an impressive .700 average, slugging 1.500 on four extra-base hits. Odicci Alexander is 2-0 in the circle for the Dukes.

Carolina's 4-3 win over Wisconsin on Feb. 15 marked head coach Donna J. Papa's 1,300th career win. In her 37th season as a head coach, Papa is the eighth coach to reach 1300 career wins. She is the sixth active coach to reach 1300 career wins and fifth active NCAA Division I coach.
