Carolina Notes
• Garrison Brooks (illness) and Justin Pierce (sprained left ankle) did not play. They became the eighth and ninth players to miss games due to injury this season.
• This was the first college game Brooks has missed in three seasons. He had played in 99 consecutive games and made 62 straight starts.
• Carolina scholarship players have missed 85 games due to injury this season, the most in the Roy Williams Era. The previous high was 64 in 2008-09.
• Today's starting lineup was the ninth different group to start this season, the most in the Williams Era.
• Carolina has lost seven consecutive games, the second-longest streak in school history. UNC lost eight in a row in 1950-51.
• Carolina has lost seven ACC games in a row, the longest streak in school history. Prior to this season, UNC had never lost more than five straight ACC games. Earlier this season, UNC lost six straight, then beat Miami and NC State, and now has dropped the last seven.
• UNC is 10-17 overall. The 17 losses tie the second most in UNC history (20 in 2001-02, 17 in 2009-10).
• UNC is 3-13 in the ACC. This is the first time UNC has lost 13 regular-season ACC games.
• Carolina grabbed a season-low 29 rebounds (previous was 32 vs. Ohio State and two games against Virginia). The Tar Heels came into the game No. 1 in the nation in rebounds per game (43.1).Â
• Louisville out-rebounded UNC by nine (38-29), the largest margin against UNC since 12/4/19 when Ohio State had 16 more rebounds (in a game that Bacot played only seven minutes due to injury).
• Carolina shot 39.1 percent from the floor, the 10th time this season the Tar Heels shot under 40 percent (2-8 in those games).
• Cole Anthony (18 points) was the only Tar Heel to score in double figures. It's the first time only one Tar Heel scored 10 or more points since Anthony had 15 against Ohio State on 12/4/19.
• Andrew Platek made two three-pointers and scored nine points. It was the fourth time this season (and second in ACC play, Notre Dame on 11/6/19) he made two threes in a game.Â
• Platek tied his season scoring high (also nine vs. Duke and Gardner-Webb).
