UNC Hosts Arizona State In Final Dual Meet Of The Year

No. 8 North Carolina wraps up its dual meet season Sunday in Carmichael Arena when the team hosts No. 5 Arizona State at 2 p.m. The dual will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

UNC (14-2) beat Virginia on Friday night, a 19-18 win in Charlottesville. Jaime Hernandez defeated UVA's Louie Hayes in the final match of the night to help Carolina finish its ACC slate with a 4-1 record for the second year in a row.

Against Virginia, No. 3 Austin O'Connor used a second-period fall to record his seventh pin on the year, a team-leading mark. O'Connor moved to 22-1 on the season with the win.

Arizona State (14-2) dropped just its second dual of the year on Friday against No. 11 Lehigh in Pennsylvania, 19-14. The Sun Devils' only other loss this season came in January against Ohio State.

ASU enters Sunday's match with six ranked wrestlers, led by No. 4 Tanner Hall at heavyweight.

Doors to Carmichael will open at 1:00 p.m. EST tomorrow. UNC is asking fans to be in their seats by 1:40 for Senior Night ceremonies prior to the dual.

The first 150 fans will receive a free Carolina Wrestling superhero-themed poster and a foam finger.
