Carolina Recognizes Harrison As AD's Scholar-Athlete Honoree

CHAPEL HILL – Tar Heel fans had an additional reason to applaud during the UNC men's basketball win over North Carolina State on Tuesday night at the Dean E. Smith Center. This year's Athletic Director's Scholar-Athletes and ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship and Award winners, including men's tennis winner Ladd Harrison, were recognized on the court at halftime of the 85-79 Tar Heel victory.
The AD's Scholar-Athlete Award goes annually to a junior or senior on each team who has displayed academic excellence while representing North Carolina in a varsity sport.
The ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan honorees are seniors who have excelled academically and athletically at UNC and have received either scholarship funds or honorary awards.
Katie Hoeg, an All-America senior on the women's lacrosse team, is the recipient of both honors for 2019-20. A biology major from Mattituck, N.Y., she plans to attend dental school after graduating from UNC.
