CHAPEL HILL—Carolina Athletics hopes Tar Heel fans everywhere are safe and well. The following are answers to frequently asked questions regarding reduced seating capacity at Kenan Stadium for the 2020 season.
Why was a decision made to go to a reduced capacity model?
The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, visitors, and Carolina Community will continue to be our priority as make decisions about fall sports. Data and trends regarding the Covid-19 pandemic continue to create a fluid environment in which we must make decisions, but reduced fan capacity in Kenan Stadium is a necessity.Â
What will the capacity be for Kenan Stadium this fall?
We are still working with state and local officials on the exact capacity for Kenan Stadium this fall.
What changes will Covid-19 have on attending games at Kenan Stadium?
Patrons will have socially distanced seating, along with digital tickets and parking passes to ensure limited contact with staff members upon entering the facility. Additional information will be made available soon on www.goheels.com.Â
What does these changes mean for season tickets?
For the 2020 season, there will be no season tickets. Tickets will only be available by request on an individual game basis.
Who will be able to request individual game tickets?
Season ticket holders and Rams Club members will be able to request tickets.Â
How will single game tickets be allocated?
Tickets will be allocated based on Rams Club priority points while giving priority to season ticket holders.
Will tickets be available to the public to purchase?
Tickets will only be available to request for season ticket holders and Rams Club members. We do not anticipate any additional on-sales for the 2020 season.
I previously made a single game request. Will I have to request tickets again?
Yes. Due to the changes in the schedule from the ACC, all previous single game requesters have been emailed and the requests have been removed from accounts.Â
I purchased tickets for the Auburn game, will those be refunded?
As of August 4th, all tickets purchased for the Auburn game have been refunded in full.
If I am awarded tickets, will I have my same seat locations?
Given the reduced capacity, many of the seats in Kenan Stadium will not be used for the 2020 season. As tickets are being assigned based on priority point total, it is possible that your usual seats will not be available and your new locations for the 2020 season may vary greatly from where you sit in a normal year at Kenan Stadium.
If I do not have my season tickets for 2020, how can I attend games?
Only season ticket holders and Rams Club members will have the ability to request games for the 2020 season that they wish to attend.Â
How will my tickets be delivered?
All tickets will be delivered via digital delivery (mobile or print-at-home).
What if my phone is not able to use mobile tickets?
While any smartphone that has internet access can load a mobile ticket or save a mobile ticket to your Google Pay or Apple Wallet app, patrons that are unable to do so can select the print-at-home option and print the tickets in advance of arriving at the game.
Does this apply to premium seats as well?
Physical tickets will still be provided to individuals in the Blue Zone. All other premium areas will have digital tickets.
What happens with my seat licenses associated with premium seats for 2020?
Rams Club members with seat leases will have the option to donate the amount, roll the amount over towards their 2021 balance, or receive a full refund of their seat lease payments. Questions regarding these options can be directed to Jacob Coggins or Kim Jones in The Rams Club.Â
