Carolina Team, Six Tar Heels Pick Up ITA Academic Honors

CHAPEL HILL—The 2019-20 North Carolina men's tennis program has been honored as an ITA All-Academic Team, while six Tar Heel players earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2019-20 season.
Seniors William Blumberg and Simon Soendergaard led Carolina on the ITA Scholar-Athlete team and were joined by junior Benjamin Sigouin, sophomore Brian Cernoch and freshmen Mark Dillon and Rinky Hijikata.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
