Lots looks different these days, but some things haven't changed: UNC student-athletes are still excelling outside of their sports. Read on for some stories you may have missed from the start of the school year.

• Several teams are already at 100 percent registration of eligible voters. Click here to read about why the women's basketball team made that a priority back in the summer and stay tuned for additional stories.
🗣 While my vote is just one of many, I feel like this is a chance for my voice to be heard.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT
The pandemic caused many students to alter their summer plans, either canceling internships or changing their locations. Still, many pivoted to valuable experiences.
• Our own Richard A. Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy was one of the organizations that offered a remote summer experience in the form of the Leadership Summer Intensive. (And check out a Daily Tar Heel story about the Leadership Academy here.)
• The ACC offered a Professional Development Academy, which drew more than 130 conference student-athletes. Eleven Tar Heels representing 10 different teams completed the course.
• Each summer at least two UNC student-athletes intern with Nike. This year three were selected an although their experience looked different, it was extremely beneficial. Read more here and watch as two of them discuss their experience as part of the Tar Heel Talk series.

ACADEMICS
Check out this infographic from the Academic Support Program website for an overview of student-athlete academic successes from the past year.
OUTREACH
The pandemic has curbed or canceled most outreach activities, but Tar Heels are still finding ways to make an impact.
• For the second year in a row, the men's and women's soccer teams have banded together for the Carolina Soccer Kicks Childhood Cancer fundraiser. Read more here in the DTH. As of Friday, they were very close to their goal of $15,000. Click here to donate!
• And for a 😀, check out this presentation. We love our teachers!
On Monday, @CoachMackBrown and @TarHeelFootball were able to award $1,000 to a deserving teacher for supplies as part of CFPExtraYard's #BigDayForTeachers!
