Men's Tennis Starts Season Strong At Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL—University of North Carolina players went 3-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles in opening-day action at the Tar Heel Invitational on Sunday, the Tar Heels' first individual action of the 2020-21 season.
Players from UNC, Tennessee and Charlotte took part in the season kickoff action on the indoor courts at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
In singles, Carolina freshmen Peter Murphy and Logan Zapp both picked up victories, as did sophomore Anuj Watane.
The UNC teams of senior William Blumberg and freshman Adam Neff and Murphy with senior Simon Soendergaard posted wins.
The Tar Heel Invitational will resume on Monday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Carolina's dual meet schedule will begin on January 24 in the ITA Kickoff against Northwestern.
