Carolina Notes
• This is the first time in UNC history it has played seven consecutive ACC games decided by seven points or fewer.
• Carolina shot 54.8 percent from the floor in the second half, its best in a half this season (previous was .545 in the second half at Iowa).
• The Tar Heels had six assists and nine turnovers in the first half and 12 assists/3 turnovers in the second.
• Carolina forced a season-high 20 turnovers and scored a season-high 24 points off turnovers (previous highs were 17 turnovers by UNLV and Florida State and 21 points off turnovers against Charleston and UNLV).
• Wake Forest's 13 threes were the most by an opponent in a Tar Heel victory this season (and the second most by an opponent in any game to Iowa's 17).
• The 13 threes by Wake Forest were the most by an opponent in a UNC win since Virginia Tech made 13 in the Smith Center on 1/21/19.
• Wake Forest had an 18-9 edge in second chance points. That was the second time this season the opponents had more second chance points (Iowa had a 21-14 advantage).
• Carolina had a season-high 12 steals.
• This was the third straight game UNC had more assists than turnovers (18-11 vs. Syracuse, 19-14 at Florida State and 18-12 vs. Wake Forest).
• Carolina scored 80 points, the third time UNC has scored 80 or more.
• UNC is 309-39 under Roy Williams when it scores 80 or more.
• Carolina's 49 second-half points were its most in a half in ACC play this season and equaled the second half at Iowa for most in any game.
• The was the 894th for Roy Williams (894-258). He needs six wins to become the fourth Division I coach to win 900 games.
• Isaiah Mucius and Daivien Williamson both scored 27 points for Wake Forest. The 27 points are the most by an opponent against UNC this season.
• It was the first time two opponents scored 25 or more since Duke's RJ Barrett (33) and Cam Reddish (27) on 2/20/19.
• Mucius's seven threes equal Iowa's Jordan Bohannon and Notre Dame's Nate Laszewski for the most by an opponent this season.
Tar Heel Player Notes
• Caleb Love scored a season-high 20 points. He is the second Tar Heel to score 20 this season (25 by Day'Ron Sharpe vs. Notre Dame).
• Love was a season-best 7 for 12 from the floor (first time better than 50 percent), including 2 for 3 from three.
• His seven field goals were a season high.
• It was the fourth game this season Love made multiple threes (he is 5 for 9 over the last two games).
• Love committed two turnovers in the first five minutes, then did not commit another until there were 28 seconds to play.
• Leaky Black had eight assists and one turnover. The eight assists matched the season-high by a Tar Heel (RJ Davis had eight at Iowa).
• Black's assist/turnover ratio of 8:1 was the best by a Tar Heel this season and the best of his career.
• Armando Bacot scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half. He added six rebounds, three assists and two steals. He made 8 of 10 shots from the floor, his best FG percentage (.800) of the season for 10 or more attempts.
• The 18 points were Bacot's most since he had 19 vs. NC Central on 12/12/20.
• RJ Davis had 13 points off the bench. It was his third straight game scoring in double figures after doing that one time in the previous six games.
Series Notes
• Carolina leads 163-67, including 79-18 in Chapel Hill.
• The Tar Heels have won seven straight against the Demon Deacons at home and are 24-5 all-time in the Smith Center.
• Carolina has won two in a row and eight of the last nine overall.
• Roy Williams is 19-7 against Wake Forest (17-6 at UNC, 2-1 at Kansas).
• The 163 wins against Wake Forest are the most by Carolina against an opponent.
