• Five Tar Heels scored in double figures for the third time this season and first time in an ACC game (Stanford and Iowa).
• It was the first time four Tar Heel freshmen scored in double figures since 1/27/2007 at Arizona.Today: Day'Ron Sharpe 16, Caleb Love 15, Anthony Harris 10 and RJ Davis 10 (and Kerwin Walton had eight). At Arizona: Ty Lawson 18, Wayne Ellington 14, Deon Thompson 14, Alex Stepheson 10.
• Carolina scored a season-high 86 points. This was the fourth time this season and second game in a row UNC scored 80 or more points.
• Carolina is 3-1 this season and 310-39 under Roy Williams when scoring 80 or more points.
• Carolina shot a season-high 54.4 percent from the floor. This was the first time this season UNC shot 50 percent or better.
• Carolina is 215-9 in 18 seasons under Roy Williams when it shoots 50 percent or better from the floor.
• Carolina has shot 50 percent from the floor in three consecutive halves.
• Carolina scored a season-high 38 bench points (previous was 30 at NC State) and outscored NC State by 26 in bench points.
• Carolina had 18 assists and 13 turnovers (fourth straight game with more assists than turnovers).
• Carolina shot 56.8 percent from the floor in the first half (21 of 37). That was the highest percentage in any half this season. The previous high was .548 in the second half of the previous game vs. Wake Forest (season highs in back-to-back halves).
• Carolina scored 43 points on 43 first-half possessions, its best points per possession in a first half in a game this season.
• Carolina led 43-33 at the half. The 10-point lead was UNC's largest halftime lead of the season (previous was seven in its first two games against Charleston and UNLV).

• Carolina made a season-low eight free throws and its percentage from the line was a season worst (8 for 18 for 44.4 percent).
• Carolina outrebounded the Pack, 44-30. It was the 13th time in 15 games this season UNC had more rebounds and the 10th game with at least 40 rebounds.

Tar Heel Player Notes
• Armando Bacot led UNC in scoring (17 points) for the fifth time this season. He was 8 for 12 from the floor and is 16 for 22 in the last two games.
• Freshman Day'Ron Sharpe had 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for his team-leading fourth double-double.
• Sharpe made eight field goals (in 13 attempts); he made seven total in the previous three games.
• Bacot and Sharpe were both 6 for 8 from the floor for 12 points in the first half.
• Caleb Love scored 15 points and had five assists and five turnovers. It was his third straight game scoring in double figures and ninth time this season.Â
• Love's five assists and five turnovers were both season highs in ACC play.
• Anthony Harris scored 10 points in 10 minutes; it was his first game this season and second career game in double figures (14 vs. UCLA last season when he received a medical red-shirt after playing in only five games).
• RJ Davis scored in double figures for the fourth consecutive game (after one time in his previous six games).
• Kerwin Walton made two three-pointers, the sixth time in the last nine games he made multiple threes.
• Walton's two threes came in the last 5:41 of the game; the second gave UNC a 75-66 lead with 4:09 to play after NC State had cut UNC's 14-point lead to six.
• Walton tied his season high with four assists.
• Freshman Puff Johnson injured a toe on his right foot in practice yesterday and was not in uniform.

• The Tar Heels lead the series, 161-79, winning 33 of the last 38 and 50 of the last 62 games against the Wolfpack.
• Roy Williams is 38-5 as a head coach against NC State, including a 5-0 record at Kansas and a 33-5 mark at Carolina.Â
